Hi! My name is Baxter. I would like to start my story with words from a song. “Almost heaven, West Virginia, Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River. Life is old there, older than the trees, younger than the mountains, blowing like a breeze. Country roads, take me home to the place I belong.”-Take Me Home, Country Roads by John Denver That is really the story of my young life. It has been spent searching for my family. My sister, Fiona, and I had kind of a rough start. We were found shivering in the cold together without our Mommy when we were very little. With the help of the people from the rescue, we quickly grew into beautiful, healthy kittens. We were so happy when some people decided to make us part of their family. You see, my favorite thing to do is jump up and snuggle on somebody’s lap so it was really great to know that I could do that ALL the time! (Check out that last picture; that is me totally relaxed in a human lap while I get a little neck massage.) We were a very happy family for a while until one of our people started sneezing a lot. He tried really hard to feel better so that he could keep us but nothing worked. We were back at the store looking for a family again. I really missed our house and the nice laps I got to lay in every day. Our humans had loved us very much and we loved them.
My sister, Fiona, and I are really good cats. We are well-behaved and never make a mess. We are quiet and faithful companions with lots of love to share. Life has been full of surprises so far, some joyful and some a little sad. However, we know that very soon we will find our home, our place. It will be “almost heaven” and worth the wait. Baxter and Fiona have faced all of life’s joys and challenges together so far. They would like to go to the same forever family. However, they may be adopted individually if there is a companion currently in the home.
Baxter will be great in any type of home including with children, other cats/kittens or small dogs/puppies, has no special needs and will make a very special addition to the family.
Like all SNAP pets, Baxter is neutered, up to date on shots and vaccinations, and micro-chipped. He is ready to meet you at one of our adoption centers or by special appointment.
