Action Ministries – Hunger Relief 
25 Volunteers 10am to 2pm

The volunteers will be building hunger relief boxes. The boxes will be sent to food pantries and other service organizations across Atlanta. You will be on your feet most of the time putting the boxes together.
American Cancer Society – Hope Lodge
Project hosted by: Georgia State Alumni Association’s Young Alumni Council (all alumni volunteers welcome)

Volunteers will be doing light cleaning and organizing at the Atlanta Hope Lodge – wiping  down surfaces, organizing rooms, straightening the kitchen. Volunteers will then play BINGO with patients and caregivers.
Gateway Center
24 Volunteers, 9am to 12pm

One group of 6-8 people will be sorting donated items for our clothing closet and hygiene closet. One group of 4-5 people will be operating a clothing closet for those experiencing and transitioning from homelessness. One group of 5-8 people will be operating a finger nail clinic. One group of 4-8 people will be doing lite yard work. Gateway Center will provide all supplies for the day of event. Additionally, volunteers will go through a training on safety, confidentiality, and sanitation.

 Books for Africa
25 Volunteers, 9am to 11am

Volunteers will sort and pack books according to category and age level. Will be in a warehouse and it may by chilly so dress warmly.

Volunteers will sort medical supplies. You must be age 14 and older to participate, wear casual clothing and closed toe shoes.
 North Fulton Community Charities

Voplunteers will sort and stock donations for the NFCC Thrift Shop.
Open Hand – Meal Delivery (CURRENT FACULTY/STAFF ONLY) 
15 Drivers, 10am to 2pm

Using your own vehicle, you will be trained to deliver meals to clients in the metro-Atlanta area. The average route is 2-3 hours in length. Must provide proof of valid drivers’ license and valid insurance.  To register a passenger(s), email Ellen Kinsey at ekinsey@gsu.edu.

 Furkids Inc. – Cats
6 Volunteers, 10am to 1pm

Volunteers will be doing light cleaning and playing with cats.
SNAP2IT Animal Rescue – Petsmart 
20 Volunteers, 10am to 12pm

Volunteers will be cleaning the facilities and playing with the cats on adoption day. Volunteers will choose a location during when they register.
SNAP2IT Animal Rescue Headquarters and Kitty Reserve 
15 Volunteers, 10am to 1pm

 Cleaning the facilities, light landscaping, and playing with the cats. Some cats are not domesticated and scratches may occur. Garden or work gloves are advised.

Piedmont Park
35 Volunteers, 9am to 12pm

General landscaping tasks such as spreading mulch, pulling weeds, watering trees, trail maintenance, etc. Meet up location and parking instructions will be emailed to each participant.

Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta – Camp Timber Ridge
30 Volunteers, 9am to 12pm

Volunteers will be doing a variety of projects from raking, putting down mulch, and painting to help keep Camp Timber Ridge in tip top shape.

Trees Atlanta
30 Volunteers, 9am to 12pm
Beltline Eastside Trail
Volunteer will planting new seeds/trees and maintaining gardens along the Beltline Eastside Trail. Exact project site will be released two weeks prior to event date.
Habitat for Humanity
10 Volunteers, 7:30am to 3:30pm
Location TBD
Volunteers will help with the construction of a new home. No construction experience needed and lunch is provided. Build sites are in the City of Atlanta, typically on the south or west side of town. The exact location of the build is announced one week before the event.
Historic Oakland Cemetery
70 Volunteers, 9am to 12pm

Volunteers will be assisting in the gardens doing a variety of chores including planting, weeding and mulching.
Perimeter College – Decatur Community Garden

General landscaping tasks, building garden paths to make the garden more visually appealing. 
 

Perimeter College – Native Plant Botanical Garden

20 Volunteers, 10am to 1pm

Volunteers will help tidy the garden area by cleaning plant beds, picking up along the trails, and digging up plants that need the be moved. We will also need help cleaning around our greenhouse area and potting plants.
