ADOPTED! Tabby Twins May & June, ATL Kittens for All Seasons, 13 Weeks Old

These two sweet sisters, May and June (ADOPTED!), are about 13 weeks old. They are terrific tiny classic brown tabbies, twins in appearance, that SNAP saved when their time was up at a local animal control. Today, they are healthy, happy, playful, and spayed – and ready to go to a forever Atlanta home. May and June adore each other, and never want to be apart, so SNAP’s dream is to find them a single home as a pair. These tiny twins, with their fur of cream, toast, chocolate and cocoa, will bless your home for years to come with their friendly tabby personalities and love of people. June is the shyer of the two sisters. She is very sweet and looks up at her human friends with big gray-green eyes that will make even a hard heart melt a little. She likes to be held and will curl into a tiny ball and wait patiently for her turn for attention. June has a distinct single “collar ring” around her neck, a strong “M” on her forehead, and lovely dark brown Cleopatra stripes streaming from the corner of each eye. Even though she is the more dainty and cautious of the two, she likes to play chase with her sister, May. May is the spunkier sister. She was hard to get a picture of because she charged the camera each time, seeking attention. She adores being petted, and is more active than June. She bats at anything that looks like a toy, runs after shadows and sometimes her own tail, and gets along very well with all the other kittens. May watches out for June, and makes sure that they take all their naps together. Like June, May has strong tabby features, but her eyes are a little rounder and deeper set, and she has warm amber shadows along her snout that help distinguish her from June. Both of these girls are ready to go to their forever homes immediately. To set up a play date so you can see how May and June get along with you, just drop us a note and we’ll be glad to accommodate you. You can also pre-apply to adopt May and June online. Like all SNAP animals, they are neutered and up to date on shots and vaccinations. June June June June June June May May May...

ADOPTED! Maya the Monarch Requests You at Court

ADOPTED! Maya the Monarch Requests You at Court

Of all God’s four-legged creatures, cats seem to know (perhaps more than any) how beautiful they are.  Four-month-old Maya certainly does.  Maya moves with all the regal grace and bearing of a crowned monarch as she benevolently reigns her foster mother’s home.  She holds court every afternoon, when the sun is at just the right place to catch her best side, in the cushy, comfortable cat room, where she allows her humans to approach and admire her…and of course wait on her hand and foot! Maya and her siblings have come a long way since our SNAP volunteer rescued them.  Maya doesn’t like to mention it because it’s not very regal at all, but when she was found, she was literally eating food from the ground that had fallen from a dumpster at an apartment complex.  Even though it took some time for Maya to get used to her foster home, she was very relieved that someone spotted her highborn station and took her to safe surroundings. As you can see, Maya is a silvery brown with unusually dramatic markings.  If she looks familiar, you might remember her brother, Bart, who SNAP helped place a few weeks ago.  Maya sports sassy thigh-high white stockings on her hind legs, twitches her long white whiskers to get your attention, and surveys her domain through dreamy gray-green eyes that are framed in dark brown and tilt up.  She has a sweet peachy-brown nose (accented by dark brown) and pink paw pads. Her front paws have tiny white socks, and she has a soft white bib. Maya’s faithful cat-in-waiting is Toby, a gorgeous orange young gentleman, who Maya has requested also be relocated to her new royal quarters.  Maya hails from the Buford Highway area in Atlanta, but is willing to consider any offers of suitable housing that come her way. As a young monarch, Maya enjoys her playing with her cat toys (including Toby!) and prefers to sleep on her cat trees.  She entertains herself well, but will benefit from being in a home with other animals, particularly because she is still a kitten.  However, Maya doesn’t demand constant attention…just attention when she wants it. Like all SNAP kitties, Maya is spayed and microchipped, as well as current on all vaccinations and tests. Maya and Toby will be moving into the PetSmart permanent adoption center at the Howell Mill & I-75 N. location in the middle of February, and can’t wait to meet you.  Maya has agreed to offer royal dispensation on the whole bowing and curtsy routine, too.  If you have questions or want to schedule a time to play with Maya, just drop us a note.  You can also pre-apply to adopt Maya...

ADOPTED! Chillaxed Curry, Expert Foot Swimmer and Biscuit Maker, Seeks Atlanta Home: Adoptable Adult Male Cat

Don’t let Curry’s spicy name fool you.  This gentle young orange/buff tabby is as mellow and people-friendly as they come.  With pale yellow/green eyes, long white whiskers and a peach nose, Curry is ready to purr for you. Curry was dumped in an Atlanta neighborhood where he went from door to door until he found a friendly family who eventually settled him with a SNAP volunteer last week.  Curry’s personality emerged within moments:  he is relaxed, friendly (already bestowing kitty biscuits on his fosters) and likes to talk to people.  Curry and his foster mom worked co-authored the perfect introduction, with Curry comfortably settled on her desk as you can see below, reminding her to spell check. Dear Atlanta Future Family: My name is Curry, but my new foster Mom calls me Cuddle Monkey.  I will answer to either, because I just like to have conversations with engaging people! Are you looking for a cuddly, sweet, and attentive kitty? I am just the fella for you! I just love to cuddle, sit in your lap, lay on your desktop, and swim around your feet. I just want to love you and be loved by you. I am so happy to be inside. I was dumped in a neighborhood and lived outside in the cold, where I went from home to home, looking for someone to take me in. I finally found a warm, caring foster family. But I’d love nothing more than to go to a real home where I can lay on your lap and make biscuits on your tummy. I am super friendly, love to be held, and very chatty. I’ll tell you all about it! I am easy going, and laid back. I would be fine as an only pet and I will keep you warm and happy with my purrs and biscuits! XOXO, Curry Because of his sweet disposition, Curry would fit in well in multiple situations.  He can be an only cat, he would be perfect for a work-at-homer who wants mellow company, and would be ideal for a shut in or senior who just wants some companionship.  Orange tabbies are known for their friendly disposition, and this delicately-colored buff boy will spice up any home. As soon as Curry is fully vetted, he’ll be ready for adoption.  We think he’s around 2 – 3 years old, and like all SNAP cats will be microchipped, vaccinated and tested.  If you have a small corner where Curry would fit, drop us a note and let us know.  This gentle boy would love to meet you.  You can pre-apply to adopt Curry online,...

ADOPTED!!! Prankster Bonkers Livens Up Any Party: Adoptable Atlanta 7-mo Kitty

ADOPTED!!! Prankster Bonkers Livens Up Any Party: Adoptable Atlanta 7-mo Kitty

It’s pretty easy to go bonkers over Bonkers.  Bonkers, an orange tabby with glowing amber eyes, a peach nose, and long white whiskers has a captivating slapstick sense of humor that will keep you entertained.  His latest trick is that when his foster dad bends over, Bonkers hops up and does his best Low Rider imitation (you can see he looks pretty pleased with himself in the pictures).  Bonkers also likes to groom his humans – their hair, in particular – to help keep them nice and tidy.  He enjoys being the center of attention and is always glad to take a pratfall to get a laugh. This seven-month-old young man was rescued from a shelter when he was just a baby. We’ve included some baby pictures below so that you can see just how special he is.  Bonkers is very social and loves hanging out with people, other cats, and gets along fine with dogs.  He adores human interaction and eagerly joins in games (especially if they involve a moving feather), responds to your voice (even though he may ignore requests to stop with the grooming), and basically just wants to be part of the family. Even though Bonkers likes to play hard, his foster mother asked us to share that he is a gentle young man who understands that claws are not for scratching people!  Because Bonkers has shown himself to be gentle with young cats, dogs, and children, we think he would shine in a home with children who may be too young for a tiny kitten.  At 7 months, he’s the perfect age to become a little one’s new best friend.  Because Bonkers is so strongly social, we would prefer to place him in a home that has other animals. Bonkers is busy working on his next trick (he won’t tell us what it is), waiting to meet you and show it off.  Let us know when you’d like to get together!  This handsome young man is neutered, up to date on all shots and vaccinations, and microchipped.  You can also pre-apply to adopt him online. PS: Bonkers dug out this old video from when he was just a kitten. Wasn’t he cute!! [tube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SP0w7qyCfKY&feature=plcp[/tube] Bonkers is pretty pleased with himself, grooming his foster...

ADOPTED!!!! Hostess Jacqueline is Ready to Liven Up Your Atlanta-Based Get Together: Adoptable 1-Year-Old Cat

Sweet Jacqueline was rescued at a very private time in a girl’s life: while she was giving birth to a litter of kittens!  Unfortunately, because Jacqueline was not well-nourished and sheltered, the kittens did not survive.  But the nice lady who found Jacqueline made sure that she got to a safe place. Despite that sad beginning, Jacqueline has flourished at her foster mother’s home.  Jacqueline has a white chest, white paws, and white whiskers.  Jacqueline (her friends call her Jax) has earth-toned regions of fur on her back and head that are tabby-like, with white and dark brown stripes.  Her large green eyes tilt up at the corner, and watch you wherever you go.  Jax’s nose is pale brown, and her brown tail is stripe-y!  When we visited her foster mother’s to take her picture, she trailed us from room to room, always watching, and stretching in delight when we spoke to her or petted her.  Jacqueline is a very accomplished hostess. We think this lovely girl is only about a year old.  She gets along with other animals, including dogs.  She is reserved and doesn’t demand a lot of attention…but she really loves it!  Because of this, she could be the perfect match in any number of situations:  as an only cat, an addition to a household that already has pets, or a companion for a more demanding cat.  If she is a single pet, we expect that she might come out of her shell a little and be more outgoing.  Like all SNAP animals, Jacqueline is spayed, up to date on all shots and tests, and microchipped. Jacqueline is ready to get started as the new hostess at your place!  Set up a meet-and-greet with her, or pre-apply to adopt her online.  We know you won’t be sorry that you...

ADOPTED!!!!! Ice, Ice Baby: Adoptable 12-week-old Tabby, Atlanta

ADOPTED!!!!! Ice, Ice Baby: Adoptable 12-week-old Tabby, Atlanta

Ice knows he’s a pretty cool character, but doesn’t like to show off his class tabby good looks.  He sports white whiskers, deep hazel eyes, and extra long white bib to go with his classic tabby stripes and gentle, loving disposition.  He’s all kitten, though – at 12 weeks, he loves to play, chase his sister Ninja, and nap on his foster mother’s chest. Ice’s favorite toy is a red bow from Christmas, which he carries everywhere in his mouth and bats around.  He’s an excellent climber, too, and can scrabble up nearly anything so that he can look you in the eye and see what’s going on.  Ice is around older cats at his foster mother’s, and he really enjoys hanging out with them. Ice and his sister, Ninja, were rescued by a nice lady who saw them on Facebook and knew that she had to help.  The siblings were in bad shape when their foster mom got them – malnourished and dehydrated – but they have recovered wonderfully and fully.  When he was saved, Ice had an injury – we are not sure how it happened because it was already beginning to heal – that required some care and attention, but today he is healthy with no residual effects. Ice would love to be adopted with his sister, Ninja, but it’s not a necessity as long as he is placed in a home that has other friendly pets.  Particularly since he is a kitten, his personality will blossom as long as he is allowed to play and bond with other animals.  Like all SNAP animals, Ninja is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and shots, and microchipped. Ice sends his greetings and is wondering when you will stop by to say hello!  Drop us a note to arrange a meeting, or pre-apply to adopt Ice online!  And be sure to check out his sister, Ninja,...

ADOPTED!!!! Silver-Gray Tabby, Bart, 3 Months Old, Wants a Kitty Kiss. Adoptable Kitten, Atlanta.

ADOPTED!!!! Silver-Gray Tabby, Bart, 3 Months Old, Wants a Kitty Kiss. Adoptable Kitten, Atlanta.

Three-month baby Bart is a gray/silver tabby that loves cuddles, kisses, and chases with his foster brothers and sisters, especially Romeo.  A SNAP volunteer spotted him hanging out around the dumpster area of an apartment complex on Buford Highway in Atlanta, and knew that Bart, so obviously a lover and not a fighter, was better suited to living in a forever home with humans than joining a feral colony.  In fact, Bart still has some siblings that our volunteer is trying to catch at the apartment colony!  This beautiful boy, though, was ready to come out of the cold and straight into your heart. Bart’s foster mother reports that Bart started purring as soon as he was used to his new home, and immediately sought out her attention.  The tiny mite likes to lounge on his foster mother’s chest and give her face rubs while she kisses him. Bart is a typical kitten, crazy about cat toys.  If he doesn’t find a cat toy, he’ll play with his own tail and amuse himself!  Bart loves to wrestle with and chase his foster brothers and sisters and gets along well with other kittens and older cats.  Bart and Romeo, although not blood siblings, are bonded and like to play, eat, sleep together, as well as give each other a bath! Bart has not been dog tested, but since he’s a confident and friendly cat – not jumpy or scared – we think he would warm up to a gentle canine buddy quickly. Bart figures things out quickly, and is very smart. His foster mother especially likes his tiny black paws (shown in the pictures posted here) because they stand out like piano keys against his gray fur.  He has four white socks, a white bib, and gray/silver tabby coloring with dramatic dark stripes on the rest of his body.  Bart will grow into a showstopper tabby!  His eyes are a deep and clear green, and his whiskers are long and white. As much as he loves his foster mother, and she’ll miss his cuddles and kisses, Bart would like to meet his forever family to start 2013 off right!  Bart would like to be adopted with his bromance buddy Romeo best of all, but he can also go to a home that has other pets.  Especially because he’s young, Bart will flourish with lots of attention and play time, so he should not be an only cat. Bart thinks that you should really come by and admire his amazing stripes and black paws.  We agree!  Drop us a line to arrange a visit, or pre-apply to adopt Bart online.  Like all SNAP animals, Bart is neutered, up to date on all shots and tests, and...

ADOPTED!! Laid Back Orange Tabby Seeks New Home Roost: Adoptable Cat, Atlanta

Christian is a dignified, laid back orange tabby that was rescued from a trailer park north of Atlanta.  SNAP maintains a relationship with a number of locations that care for ferals, but when the colony caregiver spotted Christian, they knew that he wasn’t feral at all, but needed a permanent home.  Christian is about 4 months old. Christian has large, wide-set eyes that watch everything happening in the Howell Mill adoption center, where he currently lives.  He has distinctive, dark orange stripes around his neck, torso, and legs, as well as streaming from the corner of his amber eyes.  With his white whiskers and peach-toned nose, Christian would be the perfect addition to any household.  He is friendly, savors a good petting and a quiet conversation, and purrs quickly when humans pay attention to him. Christian also appreciates a good, comfortable lap and often sits quietly with our volunteers, enjoying their company. Christian can be adopted alone – he is very self-sufficient – but he also plays well with the other cats in the adoption center.  Although he is the largest male there, he is gentle with even the smallest kittens. You can meet Christian at the PetSmart Howell Mill adoption center off I-75 & Howell Mill, or drop us a line to get more details.  You can also apply to adopt Christian online.  He is neutered, up to date on all tests and immunizations, and...

ADOPTED! Tammy and Sammy, Adoptable Atlanta Feather-Chasing Siblings, Ready to go to Forever Home

Tammy and Sammy were born behind a drugstore from a feral mother that probably wandered away from a nearby colony.  This sweet brother/sister tabby pair are about 11 weeks old now, and ready to find a forever home. They have dramatic tabby coloring with the distinctive “M” pattern on their forehead in dark brown, and dark brown stripes originating from the corners of their eyes.  Both Tammy and Sammy have white whiskers and matching all-white booties.  Their dreamy gray-green eyes are always alert watching for something new to chase.  They are fierce feather warriors and conquered the kitten climbing perches in no time at all!  Both of them are friendly to humans and other cats, and like playing and a good snuggle. Because Tammy and Sammy are bonded, they will be adopted to a single forever home.  You can meet Tammy and Sammy at the Howell Mill and I-75 PetSmart in the adoption center any time the store is open.  Drop us a note with any questions, or apply to adopt...

Exotic Adoptable Tabby Sisters: Thomasina & Tinkerbell, Atlanta

The arrival of Thomasina & Tinkerbell at the I-75 & Howell Mill Road PetSmart has caused quite a stir with visitors – and who can blame them?  Thomasina, our cover kitten, is a striking, regal silver tabby with extraordinary markings and glowing amber eyes.  Thomasina, reminiscent of an Egyptian mau, has dramatic silver and black stripes, long white whiskers, and a hunter’s watchful eyes.  Her personality is all love bug, though, as she shows you her tummy and begs for ear rubs.  Thomasina is very social, and seeks out human interaction; she’ll even let you snuggle her like a baby and offer you a kitty kiss or two.   Her sister, Tinkerbell, has the same dramatic markings, but is a mackerel tabby.  Tinkerball has stripes of rich brown and deep black, with a white chest patch, sweet white booties and pink paws.  Tinkerbell is shyer than Thomasina, but still likes to make friends and appreciates your attention.  Both sisters are playful – toy mice beware! – and deeply bonded to each other.  They will be adopted as a pair. To visit Thomasina & Tinkerbell, you can stop by the I-75 & Howell Mill PetSmart adoption center any time.  The center is manned on weekends with volunteers who can introduce you to the lovely tabbies.  Drop us a line to arrange a meet and greet, or apply to adopt...
