Tanner

Tanner

Terrier/Retriever Mix

DOB 5/16/18

Meet Tanner, fka Thorina! This sweet boy had a rough start, being abandoned and rescued from a storm drain. He was emaciated and so sick. It was really touch and go but he’s a tough cookie! As his coat of fur grew back in, he gained three white spots that remind me of Harry Potter’s lightning bolt scar. This sweet boy is not much effort to care for and love. He’s semi-house broken so long as you let him out in timely fashion. Tanner loves his crate for naps and chill time. At night he gets so sleepy, just like a baby; he grabs hold of a toy and likes to be led to his bed. He’s a good sleeper, likes to sleep in late just like the rest of us. At mealtimes, he will sit by his bowl and patiently wait for his meal. He’s also respectful of the other dog’s bowls.

Tanner actually had a DNA test done and includes the following breeds: Alaskan Malamute, Labrador Retriever, Doberman and a big mix of Herding, Sporting and Terrier Breeds! We think they left out “Unicorn” since his hair forms a little point (like a horn) right between his eyes. He is just a ball of fun!

Tanner loves to play with other dogs, big and small! He also has a sweet spot for little girls. He hasn’t met a little boy yet, but I know he’d fall in love. Tanner is gentle and respectful with cats and accompanies his foster mom with her senior kitty for weekly fluids at the vet. He is a super passenger in the car and loves getting fawned over at his weigh-ins at the vet!

Tanner has lots to learn still. He’s great at leash walking but prefers a yard for potty breaks. When it comes to catch, he is more of a chase and return than a catcher. It’s so cute to watch his excitement when he gets a big boy milk bone instead of the little ones. He’s a proud pup and wants to be like the big boys!  Oh, and he likes to cuddle up to your side, lay belly up, and just hang out.

Don’t miss out! Come meet this sweet boy today!
